REST AS A RIGHT, NOT A PRIVILEGE.

Our RestRelief initiative brings sleep support to communities where darkness, quiet, and privacy are in short supply.

  • Where it started

In Cape Town's Wallacedene settlement, we saw firsthand what happens when the basic conditions for rest don't exist. We partnered with the Ubomi Sisters programme to donate sleep masks, ear plugs, and run sleep education workshops. The response told us this was worth building on.
  • What we do

RestRelief provides sleep products and practical guidance to underserved communities. We donate from our existing product range and work with local organisations to deliver workshops on sleep health, and the tools that make a difference when your environment works against you.
  • What rest can do

Sleep shapes how we think, how we heal, how we cope with what the next day asks of us. In communities facing overcrowding, noise, and the stress of daily uncertainty, it's often the first thing lost and the last thing addressed.

RestRelief exists because we believe the work Z Lab does shouldn't stop at hotel rooms and aircraft cabins. The same products and knowledge that help a traveller recover from jet lag can help a teenager in Wallacedene get through exams.

The workshops we run matter as much as the products we donate, because understanding your body's relationship with light, dark, and rest is a meaningful step to better sleep.

  • What comes next

RestRelief started in Cape Town. It won't end there. We're working to bring sleep workshops and product donations to more communities, in South Africa and beyond, partnering with local organisations who understand the needs on the ground.

If you'd like to be part of that, we'd welcome the conversation.
